How can physical theraphy help me?
With a
physical therapist evaluation, your physician will have more information
regarding the cause of your discomfort or dysfunction. With a
physician prescription, your physical therapist can then design a
treatment plan and program for you to ease your discomfort, strengthen your
physical weaknesses, and help you for your daily living activities.
What do I need to get started?
You need to
visit your physician and obtain a prescription for physical therapy.
You can bring your prescription in or have your physician fax your
prescription to us at 831-442-7311. Once we receive your
prescription, we will contact you for demographic and insurance
information that will assist us in obtaining your insurance benefits.
We will also schedule you for your first visit, which will take
approximately 1 hour with your primary physical theraphist.
Typically we can see you within 24-48 hours of your phone call at our
convenient North Salinas location. To expedite the process you can
print the required forms and fax to our office prior to your visit.

What can I expect on my first visit?
Please
arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment so we can
ensure all necessary paperwork is complete. Bring your physician's
prescription, your insurance card, and comfortable clothes. You will
be evaluated by a licensed therapist and they will identify goals for your
treatment along with an appropriate treatment plan. It is important
to schedule your approved visits in advance and attend every visit to meet
the goals developed by you and your therapist. If you need to cancel
or reschedule your appointment, please call at least 24 hours prior to the
scheduled time so that we can accommodate another patient.
What treatment will I receive and how
long will it take?
Your
therapist will develop a treatment plan based on your diagnosis and your
physician's specific request. Typically your treatment might
consists of some modalities (ultrasound, heat, ice), manual theraphy /
mobilization, and exercise. Each appointment should take
approximately 45-50 minutes. Your therapist willl send your initial
evaluation report to your referring physician, and periodic progress
reports to keep the physician updated.
How much will it cost?
We
accept most insurances and have preferred provider relationships with many
insurance companies which will limit your out-of-pocket cost. Each
visit, after the initial evaluation, cost approximately $100 and most is
covered by insurance. You will be told prior to your first visit
what your estimated cost per visit will be, and you are expected to pay
that amount each visit. We will bill your primary and your secondary
insurance as a courtesy. We accept cash, personal checks, or credit
card for payment.
